The Cerrado is the second largest Brazilian biome and one of the most threatened in the world. Its geographical location plays a fundamental role in the distribution of water resources to all other biomes in Brazil. Its preservation is vital. Based on this fact, the “Cerrado” Project is born, which brings knowledge about Medicinal Herbs and Non-Conventional Food Plants – PANC, found in our region. The project has its origins in the Paulo de Tarso Foundation and the knowledge acquired will be adapted for young people’s language.

This is also a moment of historical rescue, as our ancestors survived in difficult times of limited medical resources, thanks to the knowledge of the application of these herbs.

Activities include the recognition, preparation and application of some of these natural resources. Undoubtedly it will also be an interesting way of transmitting some techniques of survival in the woods for Scouts and other young people.
